Rev. Sonia Brule
Lead Pastor
After graduating from the Classical Animation program at Sheridan College, Sonia began her career as a background painter and key animator for several animation studios.
In 2009, she joined Oakridge Church as a Children’s Pastor, a role she faithfully served in for 15 years.
Sensing a deeper call to pastoral leadership, Sonia went on to complete her Master of Divinity at Huron University College in London and earned a Certificate of Theological Studies from Knox College in Toronto.
She was ordained in September 2024 and accepted her first charge here at Knox-St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Dutton, Ontario.
In addition to her pastoral work, Sonia volunteers as a Prison Chaplain at the Elgin Middlesex Detention Centre, where she leads chapel services for women as well as leads services at Bobier Villa’s Long-Term Care home in Dutton, with her ‘Merry Band of Singers.’
Sonia and her husband, Chris, are proud parents to their two adult children—Connor and Giuliana (Giuby)—and their cocker spaniel Samson.

Meet Our Administrative Team
Shannon Simmons
Administrative Assistant
Shannon Simmons was born and raised in the community of Dutton Dunwich and joined the team as an Administrative Assistant in 2026. She brings strong administrative expertise developed through her career in the insurance and financial services industry, where she has built a reputation for organization, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Outside of work, Shannon enjoys spending time reading, creating crafts, and camping with her family. She and her husband, Tim, are proud parents to their son, Ty, and share their home with two beloved toy poodles, Max and Wally.
